Karla Tower, Gothenburg, Sweden

We engaged with a Swedish construction company as they were developing plans for one of their first projects involving a super-high structure.

CAS Tower System was subsequently designed for the 246m, 74-storey Karlatornet (Karla Tower). The Tower is the crowning glory of a site that has been in the development and planning stages for almost two decades. It is not only the highest skyscraper in Gothenburg, but the tallest building in Scandinavia (as of 2022). A carefully considered package of high-speed hoists and a specialist Mammoth hoist were combined with the Tower system to facilitate access for trades and fit out with the efficient transport of goods and personnel.

The Design team’s early engagement with the client on this landmark project produced an effective, tailored access scheme and a successful, efficient result.
